Award Season: SAG

Award season is upon us, and let me tell you how much I love it. The looks the stars wear are bold and memorable- each celebrity trying to outshine another. These couture looks are all incredibly designed and gorgeous in their own way. Last nights show also got rather political, and the actresses got supportive on the red carpet as well as in their speeches.

Below are my ultimate favourite looks from the show.

Kirsten Dunst, Dior

The 23rd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, Arrivals, Los Angeles, USA - 29 Jan 2017

Kerry Washington, Cavalli Couture

Washington supported the refugees by wearing a safety pin to show unity in the United States.

Janelle Monae, Chanel

Emma Stone, Alexander McQueen

Emily Blunt, Cavalli Couture

Viola Davis, Vivienne Westwood

The style trends of 2017 are clear, florals are NOT going anywhere. Ruffles are back, as well as sequins. Can’t wait for the next award show- because these looks will be tough to top.

Today, in Canada is #BellLetsTalk day. An incredible movement that brings awareness about “the elephant in the room,” mental health. Last year I shared my personal story, because talking is how we break the stigma.

As someone who suffers from severe depression and anxiety, every day is a challenge. That will never change for me and accepting that and accepting help (which trust me is NOT easy) is how I get better.

It took me along time to understand that just because I take my medication daily doesn’t mean I am helping myself. You need to talk, you need to not be embarrassed you have a problem. Be it friends, family, or a therapist sharing is how you get better. I have a support team that time and time again is there by my side no matter what, and I am so thankful for that.

Today might be a day to bring awareness, but for me, who is open about my problems, it’s a day to say thank you. For my family, who no matter what I seem to put them through stays beside me. The friends who stuck by me through the bad days and the good, who check in and who care.

Whether you have a mental health problem, or are just having a bad day, we need to be nicer. We need to be more understanding, we need to be thoughtful and put yourself in someone else’s shoes.

Don’t suffer alone. End the stigma. Let’s talk.

Reuse and Recycle

OK people we need to talk about the serious new trend of re-worked vintage tops. So vintage never goes out of style, but the new trend is doing cool sh*t to them! It’s also super awesome because there are a whole lot of people doing it straight from Toronto.

This trend is being seen everywhere, obviously the Kardashian squad rocks it (think Hailey BaldwinGigi etc.)

It’s a trend that (I hope) is not going anywhere, because how comfy are vintage pieces?!

I have purchased multiple pieces from No Name Saint their stuff is so awesome, from jean jackets to shoes everything is hand done when it comes to your re-worked top.

Both of these pieces are unique, and I can guarantee NO ONE will have a double of these shirts. Whether they are ripped or bleached I am obsessed with the style. They are super easy to pair with jeans and you can dress it up or down.

First outfit: No Name Saint top, M by Mendocino jeans, Aldo boots

Second outfit: No Name Saint top

What’s In My Bag: School Edition

So, I am back at school and nothing gives me greater joy then back to school shopping! This year I picked up a few necessities at Indigo, I adore their agenda’s. It’s important to stay organized for success…#2017Motto

Bag: Louis Vuitton Neverfull

This tote bag is perfect for carrying everything I need, and it is large enough that everything fits, without getting lost.

Like this Bag:

Michael Kors

The nude and brown colours are so perfect for a school bag because they’re neutral, and will stand out.

I love the marble case, it is just so sleek and has some character. I picked it up from my favourite online shopping site (Amazon). The case also comes with a matching keyboard cover to ensure everything stays clean!

This awesomely adorable agenda is from Indigo, and is created by a company called, if you haven’t heard of them get ready to freak. From jewellery to stationary they have you covered, and their stuff is so damn cute.

I love the saying on the pencil case, and it’s just big enough to hold what I need for school. I am in a fashion program so it hold pens, pencils, tape, scissors and a few other small items.

These sarcastic pens are SO me, with funny sayings, they make me smile every time. With quotes such as: “Not My Problem” and “Sorry Not Sorry” they are so cool and work well.

The last item in my bag is a mini makeup bag from Ipsy, it fits everything I could possibly need for a quick touch up. I get a mini bag every month so I can switch it up whenever I like.

Even if you are not in school, have work etc an agenda is always great to keep you punctual without relying too much on your smart phone.

What essentials do you have in your school bag/ work bag? Let me know in the comments below.

Skull’s Forever

Since skulls have come onto the scene, I have fallen in love. I can honestly never get enough whether it is on my clothes, jewellery or home ware. I don’t care if it went out of style two years ago, I will always love to rock skulls.

I found the most comfortable grey knit sweater by Miracle City, which I wore the entire time while travelling around Israel. The weather was pretty chilly (not as cold as Toronto) but I was in need of a warm knit.

On me: Miracle City sweaterM by Mendocino jeans, Adidas sneakers

No matter the weather I live in my Adidas. They are so comfortable and versatile and allow me to spice up any outfit with the fun monochromatic sides. If you don’t have a pair of Super Star’s, I seriously suggest you go pick them up!

Last night was the Golden Globes and with them came Collin’s first nomination for her role in Rules Don’t Apply. So, I am going to do a top 5 countdown of my fave Lily red carpet looks!

She is able to rock any colour dress, no matter the fabric. She is creating a name for herself in the fashion world. She follows her own likes and dislikes, no matter what the fashion do’s and don’ts are, which is seriously so encouraging in today’s world.

If you haven’t been able to tell from the past pictures, her hair and makeup are always on point- Especially her brows!

Screen Shot 2017-01-09 at 11.23.03 AM.png

Could her brows be more full and perfect? Probably not…

Watch out for this up and coming actress on both the red carpet and on the big screen.
